The Coeur d'Alene Chapter of The Idaho Writer's League can help you begin...
You've made the resolutions. You bought new paper and a really good pen. You even cleaned a small corner of the bedroom and put up a desk. Yet you still can't seem to take the time to put pen to paper. What you need is inspiration, motivation, and encouragement. You need the Idaho Writer's League.
For over 60 years, the Idaho Writer's League (IWL) has been providing local communities with support and encouragement for the art and profession of writing. Since 1943, the Coeur d'Alene chapter of the IWL has provided everything you need to make your writing dreams come true.
At the Idaho Writer's League you will:
* Hear presentations by well-published authors and knowledgeable others from the world of writing.
* Share original writings.
* Participate in small, encouraging, likeminded critique groups.
* Discuss writing techniques or problems you are having with your work.
* Enter IWL state writing contests if you choose.
* Be encouraged to attend the IWL state writers convention the last week-end in September.
* Be mentored by a caring, knowledgeable, sensitive group of writers.

From Our Members:
Being a member of the Coeur d'Alene chapter of the Idaho Writer's League is to surround oneself with talented poets and writers, determined through their work to maintain a tradition of literary excellence that was begun a half-century ago. The result on my writing is that I keep raising the bar.
Patti Dickinson
I was a member of the Idaho Writer's League Twin Falls Chapter for 15 years. It was wonderful to be able to continue my membership in this organization when I moved to Coeur d'Alene six years ago. I find the support and opportunities for growth invaluable. For me, the writing itself doesn't get easier, and I need the loving support and honest critiquing I receive from the group.
Mary Langer Smith
aka Maryn Langer
In the Coeur d'Alene Chapter of Idaho Writer's League, beginning writers find acceptance, encouragement and guidance, and practical help. But what I cherish most is the non-judgmental, constant prompting to do a little better, to reach a little higher. I have found the members of the CDA Chapter to be a cornerstone of principle and purpose as I build my writing career.
Nikki Arana
When I joined the IWL, Coeur d'Alene Chapter, I found an audience for my own poems and prose. The bonus came when I listened to their work and found ways to improve mine.
